Mobile Phone Keypads & LCD Displays
Mobile phones are subjected to a lot of daily use and abuse. Mechanical tests are needed to simulate the everyday use of the finished product. During development and manufacture, individual keys are tested to measure the electrical and mechanical switch contact closure points. Simulating a key press, the force must be low enough for ease of use but ensure electrical contact yet high enough to avoid the key being repeatedly pressed in error.
Compression tests on LCD displays to check for screen breakage/strength and screen pressure distortion.
