Lloyd Instruments Celebrates 20 Years UKAS Accreditation

Lloyd Instruments, UK manufacturer of materials testing machines since 1976, is delighted to announce that 2008 sees its 20th anniversary as a nationally recognised UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) calibration laboratory (Accreditation No. 0251), offering customers UKAS approved verification and calibration of the force measuring system in tension and compression. During these 20 years, over 25,000 UKAS accredited (or their equivalent) calibration certificates have been issued to UK customers alone. The laboratory currently boasts four certified engineers for the UK, one for Germany and three providing UKAS calibrations internationally. Lloyd Instruments Calibration Laboratory is also accredited to ISO 17025-2005.
In addition, AMETEK S.A.S., sister company of Lloyd Instruments in France celebrates 10 years of COFRAC accreditation (Accreditation N°1-0884). COFRAC and UKAS are members of EA (European cooperation for Accreditation) which is recognized by all European countries and all over the World (with ILAC - International Laboratory Accreditation Co-operation). UKAS, COFRAC and equivalent accreditations are becoming an increasingly important requirement for companies that provide local test and calibration facilities.
Countries where UKAS calibrations have been performed by Lloyd Instruments’ engineers include: UK, Ireland, Cyprus, Denmark, Germany, Singapore, Oman and China. Calibrations carried out by AMETEK S.A.S under COFRAC include France, Italy, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco and Luxembourg.
With an international network of distributors offering technical and service support, Lloyd Instruments continues to offer accredited facilities at locations throughout the world. The company’s service partners in India (Hemshell Services (Calibration Division of Hemetek Techno Instruments Pvt., Ltd.)) and in Thailand (Dynistec Co., Ltd), are accredited to ISO 17025-2005 for site force calibration of universal materials testing machines. Testing and calibration laboratories that comply with ISO 17025 also operate in accordance with ISO 9001.
